In the article Target Market Segmentation and Education: Comparing agriculture digital payments systems, Lee Babcock talks about a lesser-known digital payment system that was started in Colombia in partnership with the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation and the Bank of Bogota.

The initiative that was launched in 2007,  was called CEDULA, it is a smartcard digital payments initiative that was meant to be a digital channel throught which the federation would pay its 574,000 coffee farmers for their beans.
