The FAO-ITU E-agriculture Strategy Guide was developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) with support from partners including the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) as a framework for countries in developing their national e-agriculture strategy/masterplan. Bhutan and Sri Lanka were the pilot countries where national e-agriculture strategy was developed using this framework. In an ongoing TCP FAO is engaging with the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Vanuatu in developing their national e-agriculture strategy.
In continuation of this, FAO and ITU are organizing a three day E-agriculture Solutions Forum from 29 – 31 August 2016 followed by a two day Training-of-trainers (ToT) on the development of national e-agriculture strategies from 1 – 2 September 2016 in Nonthaburi, Thailand. This event was done in partnership with CABI. Please find attached brochure providing more information including a draft agenda for the event.
The three day forum includes an exhibition and knowledge sharing sessions on sustainable ICT for agriculture. This event would bring together ICT in agriculture solution providers who would showcase their technologies and will provide valuable opportunities for networking to further strengthen national e-agriculture implementations.
